Anna Hyman

My earliest attempts at travel writing were some 30 years back when I started keeping detailed holiday diaries - for my eyes only. However, things changed about 16 years ago when as an editorial assistant I was asked to cover a press trip to Jersey and write about it for publication. I discovered I loved it. Since then I have written and edited countless articles as Travel/Special Features Editor for Motoring & Leisure magazine, before its demise in September 2008. I am now turning my hand to freelancing - websites and print.

Food and gardening have long been favourite hobbies, two interests which blend comfortably with travel writing.

As well as writing about food , gardening and destinations in general I also write about cruising - river cruising being a particular favourite.

Apart from being a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers I am a member of the Garden Media Guild, a Fellow of the Institute of Travel and Tourism and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
