Award for Published Journalism

Mari Nicholson has won the Lady Violet Astor Silver Rose Bowl, plus cheque, for best published journalism by a member of the SWWJ. The prize is to be awarded at a luncheon at the Royal Overseas League in London on June 3rd next. The article, The Romance of Florence, was commissioned by The Curve Theatre, Leicester, for inclusion in its theatre programme for the musical Light in the Piazza, which had its European Premiere at The Curve - the setting being Florence. Although the show has now closed, there is a possibility that it may yet transfer to the West End in which case the article would remain in the programme.
