#BGTW member Nicky Gardner has just launched her latest website at www.europebyrail.eu - showcasing a wholly new edition of the book Europe by Rail (published 3 March 2011). A totally new look for a well established book. 704 pages, lots of new routes, covering many of Europe's finest rail journeys (plus a few diversions onto buses and boats): from Andalucía to Albania, from northern Norway to Istanbul. New features on Eurostar, how to get the best deals on tickets, travel in the Balkans - and even a memorable little note on what it's like to trundle through Moldova on a fourth-class train.

"The great temples of Bangkok, the ruins of Sukothai and the dreamlike beaches of the south are among the most celebrated tourist attractions of Thailand. But for me, the pleasure is just being there, riding a bus or giving impromptu English lessons to a gang of Thai student monks, or watching a game of taekraw in a sidestreet."
