Currently commissioning editor for Frommers UK.
I also have a blog on the Frommer's website http://www.frommers.com/community/blogs/behind-the-guides.html. Here I inform readers about new trends, focus on city breaks, give news about our upcoming books, interview current authors, and review hotels, restaurants and trips that I may have been on.
My background has always been in travel starting with spending a stint at one of the Grandes Ecoles in Paris, followed by six years as a rep skiing in the French and Swiss Alps, spending summers by the lakes and in the mountains in Villars and Montreux (Switzerland), looking into tombs at Luxor (Egypt), spending hours on dhonis to and from the airport in the Maldives, as well as a season in Cancun, Mexico and as a Tour Escort in China and Hong Kong.
I followed that with eight years as editorial manager for Popout Maps both writing and researching guides such as Dubai, Paris, Venice, Los Angeles, New York, London and Bristol among many, many more.
I have also freelanced and updated guides for Thomas Cook including their HotSpots guide to Ibiza, with photos.
I spend quite a bit of time in the southwest of France and in Toronto where I have close family, but I also enjoy discovering the latest openings in my home city of Bristol (and have written a short guide to Bristol for Compass) and in neighbouring Bath, as well as hopping on the latest budget airline route from Bristol Airport, including recent trips to Marrakech (with pictures) and regular stays in Glasgow.
