Jonathan is a travel writer, editor and photographer living in South West London. His words and photos have been published in several Michelin Travel Guides. His most recent Michelin title is a new one, Must Sees Cancun and the Yucatan, for which he was contributing writer and editor. The guide will be published in February 2009. In 2008 Jonathan also researched, planned, laid out and took the photos on assignment for a new Michelin Green Guide Singapore. In addition to these two new titles, Jonathan has also edited a long list of North American and European titles for the Michelin Green Guides and Michelin Must Sees series over the past few years. In 2009 Jonathan will be single handedly researching, writing, laying out and photographing for a new Michelin pocket guide to Singapore.
Some years ago Jonathan was the editor of the Best Loved Hotels print and online guide to hotels in the UK and Ireland. Prior to this he used matchsticks to keep his eyes open on the night shift travel desk at Xtreme News, which was later taken over by Durrants. Before this he worked for a couple of local London newspapers while studying a post-grad in journalism. Jonathan's flavour for history, art and architecture developed out of his studies in history of art, medieval history and his Batchelors degree in Archaeology from Bristol University. His publishing skills were learned on the job.
On the Road - Travel writing has taken Jonathan everywhere from the Bali bombings of 2002 to the riotous road to election of Evo Morales in Bolivia of 2003, Bangladesh's silent military coup of 2007, and in 2008 the first elections held in Sierra Leone since the civil war.
Timeline
Jonathan has travelled extensively in Europe, the Americas, SE Asia and Australasia. Despite all of this travel, he has yet to discover why journalist biographies are usually in the third person. But then, why break with tradition?

This year he will also be researching and writing a pocket guide to Singapore for Michelin in addition to editing a range of their guidebooks. Trips planned so far for this year include: Cornwall (March), Sardinia (May), Uganda, the Lake District (August) and Paris.
2008: Last year Jonathan was in La Plagne, Singapore, Milan, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Verona and Venice.
2007: Highlights from this year included Bangladesh, Scotland, Coatia and Sierra Leone.
