Freelance Travel Journalist and Editor
I am a freelance travel writer, editor and publisher with more than 30 years' experience in working for national, regional, business and online media and travel companies.
NCTJ-trained, my strong news and feature writing experience has helped me survive the economic downturns of the travel publishing industry for 25 years through drive, determination, constantly coming up with ideas and adapting to changing trends, particularly the arrival of the web and social networking.
My online experience includes AOL Travel, where I was a Senior Editor responsible for the relaunch of the travel site to a new portal and a sub editor. I am a regular contributor to AOL, Virgin Media, World Travel Guide, Suite 101 and whatsonwhen.
My work has recently appeared in the Observer, Travel Trade Gazette, ABTA Golf, Selling Short Breaks, Selling LongHaul, Holiday Villas, Travelwhere?, Thomas Cook Guide Books, Popout City Guides, Ace Tennis Magazine, AOL Lifestyle, AOL Shopping and World of Cruising.
A former director of Prestige Publications (UK) Ltd, I founded and launched Holiday Shop Magazine, the travel trade's leading monthly, Holiday Marketing and various travel industry supplements. My publishing and online editing company Words Worldwide and Words4Web produces content, magazines and newsletters for major travel web sites and companies which include:
