Travel
Over the past decade Laurence has travelled to China, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent several times, mostly to the more remote corners of those regions – Tibet, Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan’s Tien Shan, Tajikistan, Siberia, the Caucasus, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya – and has seen both sides of the Pamir range having travelled the length of both the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan and the Friendship Highway in Pakistan and China in addition to much of Russia's Trans-Siberian by rail. Out of a total of more than 90 countries, he has probably visited both Turkey and Spain about ten times, although he claims to have never visited the Aegean coast or lingered long on the Costa del Sol. Over the past few years as well as taking more interest in his home patch of Norfolk and Suffolk he has been a regular visitor to Serbia and seen it slowly transform from pariah state to holiday hotspot - well almost! In addition to travel, Laurence’s interests include natural history, architecture and archaeology. He also enjoys hill walking, allotment gardening, world music and good rustic food.
