Stuart Forster - freelance travel photographer and features writer.
A keen independent traveller, Stuart has experience of writing for guidebooks, magazines, newspapers and the internet, and is available for new commissions.
Stuart is passionate about history, contemporary culture and sports, plus food and drink. He enjoys trekking, slow travel and city breaks.
Until mid-2008 Stuart was based in Bangalore, India, where he contributed to the in-depth glossy guide, Bengaluru & Karnataka (2008, Stark World) and Driving Holidays Across India (2009, Outlook Traveller Guides). His photos were used in Indien - Eine Bildreise and China - Eine Bildreise (both 2008, National Geographic). Prior to that, he lived for four years in Germany, and speaks German fluently. He is currently based in northeastern England.
His features have been published in a range of newspapers and magazines, including Open Skies, National Geographic Kids, Gulf Life, North East Life, Discover India, India Today Travel Plus, Better Photography, Ryanair Magazine and Real Travel Magazine.
Stuart has travelled extensively throughout India and South-East Asia. He also knows several destinations in German speaking lands very well and has travelled to Tampere (Finland), Djerba (Tunisia), Funchal (Madeira), Lisbon (Portugal) and Breda (Netherlands) in recent months. He will be learning Portuguese from mid-2010.
