Bridges of the World A new AA fully illustrated book of the world's bridges - from historic structures to engineering marvels.
It is a magnificent evocation of the glory of great bridges across time and continents and I am reading it with the greatest of pleasure. I am particularly taken by the outstanding photography, complemented so ably by Tim and Anne Locke in their text.

Writing guidebooks on Sussex for the AA: Leisure Guide to the South Downs and Coast, Impressions of the South Downs, update of 50 Walks in Sussex, Walks and Cycle Rides in the South Downs and South Coast. I also created a cycle map of Lewes town and area (funded by Lewes District Council).
Consultant on sustainable tourism: I have worked with the East of England Development Agency piloting car-free itineraries in Norfolk and Suffolk, with Lewes District Council in creating a bike map launched in European car-free week' and with the South-East Development Agency creating innovative heritage trails in Sussex and Kent, in conjunction with the National Trust, English Heritage and Historic Houses Association.
Guidebook editing for Frommer's, Cadogan and Rough Guides. Updating the AA Essential Spiral Guide to England.
Articles for hidden europe, Weekends Away and Voyager Recent pieces include David Hockney in Saltaire, London's Cherished Ghost (the Crystal Palace), and Autumn in the North (Newcastle, Sheffield and Birmingham).
Walks guides In addition to updating 50 Walks in Sussex, I have recently updated Dorset in the same AA series. I have devised, mapped, tested and written up hundreds of walks all over Britain for guides published by AA, Reader's Digest and Which? Books. I also write captions for a walks calendar and other Britain-related calendars.
