Following 13 years at Bradt Travel Guides, ultimately as editorial director, I turned freelance in 2006. With that new-found luxury, time, I now write and update a diverse range of guidebooks, pen articles on topics from education in Ghana to business travel in the Cayman Islands, and contribute photographs to numerous travel guides. All of which affords material for illustrated talks on travel-related topics.
I'm a walker and a diver, passionate about the A to B of travel, and with a jigsaw mentality that relishes the challenge behind building up a guidebook. Which perhaps explains the rather convoluted thread that runs through my work as it winds from the UK's national trails to the islands of the Caribbean and the best (and worst) offered by several countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
