Useful websites for travel journalists and the travel industry

For some years we have published in the yearbook a list of around 100 useful internet sites... compiled by me. I'm hoping now to use this bookmark program to make the selection a little more organised and democratic.

You can vote for individual sites (select the star rating and click the Vote button) and you can suggest new websites (see at the bottom of the page.

A couple of things to note...

  1. If you hold your mouse over a site, a little pop-up will appear with more details (it's a little slow because it has to calculate some of that detail)
  2. If you are searching, please note that in the search box below asterisk means 'all', and that only site titles are searched, not their descriptions.
  3. I'm still organising/configuring this program so some things may change, eg categories or layout.

"Apparently Ranger was a bit of a ladies dog - the Steve Owen of Alaskan Huskies – intent on making sudden amorous advances towards anything with four legs and a fur coat. This was fine in his own time but not when pulling a slightly overweight journalist over the icy terrain of Swedish Lapland. The last thing this slightly overweight journalist needed was to be tipped from his sled into a frozen lake, even in the name of canine romance."

Joe Cawley, Adrenaline-lovers of the Arctic Circle, The Guardian, Sept 11, 2003
